This article from yesterday's Wall Street Journal is very encouraging and discouraging at the same time. It is high time that we let the people in the theater run a war instead of the arm-chair "generals" that many of our politicians think they are.

Hats off to our soldiers who represent us admirably in spite of the crap that goes on at home.

What do you say...?

A co-worker called me yesterday evening and informed me that one of his children had just died. All I could say was, "I am so sorry." I'm surprised that much came out.

What do you say to someone who just lost a child who is less than a year old?

The baby was a twin. Will his brother feel a sense of loss, even at that young age?

As far as I know, they do not have a church family. They don't have that support system that helped Lynn and I through our last two miscarriages. We didn't have that support through our first either.

Congrats, Vince!

Vince Young has been named Rookie of the Year! Who needs a Heisman? Now he gets paid to do it. I also noticed that he was only 13 yards behind Reggie Bush for rushing and has nearly twice the yards per carry.

Way to go, Vince! Congratulations! And thanks for a great season. I'm sure "Pops" is proud.

Back to the Grind

Well, I am faithfully back to work on the second day of the new year. Didn't I resolve to work less? Oh, I forgot about the need to eat, live in a house, pay the internet bill....

So much for that resolution...maybe next year...
